Tropical Cyclone outlook for Vanuatu issued by the Vanuatu Meteorological Service, Port Vila at 9:00 am, Tuesday 6th of January 2009.

A tropical low (1000hPa) near 17S, 161E at 051800UTC. Position poor.  Convection persistent, but displaced to the north.  Global models are indicating a southeast movement, with little intensification. The potential for the system to become a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours remains low.
